Has it been hard because there seems no change?
This is not the time to let up or give up. You may be closer to the breakthrough than you think.
A young lawyer moved into a town called Adams in New York State in America and decided to go to the local Presbyterian church. He met the minister, the Reverend George Gale, and while he was unmoved by his preaching, began to meet with Reverend Gale to discuss his preaching messages. The young lawyer wanted to make sense of what he’d heard but found the more they talked, the less clear he felt about Christianity.
When church members thought of making the young man a special subject for prayer, Reverend Gale advised against it. He thought it highly unlikely the man could ever be saved.
The man was Charles Finney, who after his conversion became an evangelist and in the next 54 years, saw in excess of 500,000 people respond to receive Christ.
In those 54 years attendances in American churches increased by almost one million people.
