Spread the News
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. Luke 4:14
Jesus had no public relations plan to draw crowds and make Himself known. He relied exclusively on public testimony. ‘Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him …’ (Luke 5:15). ‘The news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country’ (Luke 7:17).
The ultimate impact of our lives will not depend on what we say about ourselves, or even by what we do for others. It will depend on what others say about us.
In a world increasingly creating attention through media manipulation, someone’s name can be on everyone’s lips today but completely forgotten tomorrow.
Not everyone spoke well of Jesus. Some were envious (Matthew 27:18) and others afraid (Luke 8:37). Not everyone will speak well of us either.
But few things in this life are as powerful as one person telling another what Jesus has done for them.
Ask God to create the opportunity for you to do just that.
