Very Different
And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins 1 Corinthians 15:17
It’s strange to think how many people deny and dismiss any thought of Jesus’ resurrection because “that would make Christianity different from all the other faiths.” That’s just the point. Christianity is different from all the other faiths because its founder not only foretold his resurrection but then actually experienced it.
Jesus linked His resurrection to His overall mission. He linked it to the cross where He would bare in His own body the just penalty and punishment for the sins of the world.
He linked it to the new world that would come out of the old. Jesus stood and continues to stand as the bridge between two worlds – this age and the age to come. He already has a resurrected body, the only kind of body that can live in the new earth. At His return all believers will have their old body transformed into a new body to live in the new world with Him.
