How Should We Treat Others?
‘Remind them … to malign no one … For we also once were foolish … but when the kindness of God our Saviour and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us …’ Titus 3:1-5
Paul links an unwillingness to speak against others with God’s kindness and love in saving us.
Does God stand back maligning us? Does He criticise us? He had and still does have every right to do so, and He’s the only one with the perfect right to.
Who knows everything about you? Who knows every secret about you that can be known? God does. But what does God do with what He knows?
He comes to our aid. We can do nothing for ourselves. The very One we have sinned against, the very One we have offended, is the very One who treats us the very opposite to the way we deserve.
If God treats us like this, how should we treat others?
He’s forgiven us for every terrible thing we’ve done against Him. Shouldn’t we show the same kindness and love to others?
