Day 30 Believe

Believe

In very practical terms, what did you actually do to become a Christian? The simple answer is that you personally believed a message. The message was the gospel and it was presented as a series of statements that you were told were true. It may have included the following:

· There is a God

· He is holy

· God holds me accountable for how I live my life

· I am a sinner

· God must judge my sinful life

· God sent His Son to take the punishment due me

· To be forgiven for my sin, I must make a personal response to God

· I must trust that when Jesus died, He died for me, taking my sin and my punishment

When you believed these statements, you became a Christian. Think about this. How did you become a Christian? You became a Christian by believing a series of statements from the Bible as being true. Because you had no proof they were true, you had to respond in faith.

How do you grow as a Christian? You grow as a Christian by continuing to believe the statements the Bible makes about you. Sometimes our feelings agree with the statements and sometimes they don’t. Trust the statements in the Bible. Do with them what you did when you first became a Christian. Personalise them.

Your will never be the same again if you do.
