Day 30 How Do You Rate?

How Do You Rate?

The last chapter of the book of Hebrews is the writer’s final plea to his Jewish Christian readers. He wants them to return wholeheartedly to Christ. He lists twelve signs to watch out for – twelve signs that someone is drifting from Jesus –

(1) if you lose your love for fellow Christians (v.1)

(2) if you cut out hospitality (v.2)

(3) if you forget those suffering for their faith (v.3)

(4) if you lessen the sanctity of marriage (v.4)

(5) if you can’t get free of the love of money (v.5)

(6) if you forget those who have had the greatest influence on your Christian life (v.7)

(7) if you find yourself entertaining extreme teaching (v.9)

(8) if you want to be a “respectable” Christian (vs.12-14)

(9) if you find yourself wanting to worship and bless others less over time (vs.15,16)

(10) if you don’t like submitting to church or ministry leaders (v.17)

(11) if you don’t pray for those outside of yourself and family (vs.18,19)

(12) if you find yourself unsuccessfully trying harder and harder to please God and live the Christian life vs.20,21)

How do you rate? All of these twelve signs are rampant in the church today, but none of them should be.

If a number of the twelve are showing in your life, recognise that you’re drifting. Come back to Jesus. Ask Him to set you free in each area where there are problems and put His fire back in your soul.
