Holy Opportunities
Bill Hybels is one of the most recognisable Christians in America as well as in much of the world. He founded and continues to lead Willow Creek Community Church in the United States.
He wrote one time of his wife “Some time ago Lynne was facing a deadline with a book she was editing. I walked into her office one morning and saw the manuscript thrown all over the floor. She had been working through the night, and it was obvious the night had not gone well. I knew there was not much I could do, but I offered to help. “No, no” she said. “It’ll be OK.” She grabbed her (writing) journal … and went out on the back porch.
About an hour later she came back in. “I’m OK now. I just had to put this whole thing back into perspective and trust God. I know He’ll give me the strength to finish this if I just keep turning to Him.”
I thought “… Am I glad this woman has access to supernatural strength.” I have seen her bounce back from two midterm miscarriages and the loss of loved ones. I have seen her persevere through challenges. I have seen her face extremely intimidating situations. I am so thankful that she knows where to turn when life gets tough.”
What makes us great is Christ in us. The ability to draw on His power in the midst of trials is the defining mark of every outstanding Christian. If you have problems then you have opportunities to prove God’s faithfulness and power.
