Day 21 Belonging in Glory

Day 21 Belonging in Glory

F. F. Bosworth is not a well known name today, but in fifty years of ministry until his death in 1958, he was instrumental in the conversion of almost a million souls.

He was a quiet man both in person and in public ministry. Many of his detractors disagreed with the message he preached, but could not fault the man and were impressed by his faithfulness to the centrality of Christ as Saviour and Healer in every message.

At the age of 81 he conducted his final overseas campaign before returning to America. He informed his family God had told him that his time had come and that he was about to be taken home.

They gathered round him for the next three weeks as his strength quickly faded. Through this time he began to see angelic beings in the room. This increased until his final hours when something of heaven’s wonder began to open up to him. “Oh, it’s so beautiful” he said over and over. With the most peaceful look on his face and an enormous smile, he closed his eyes only to open them in glory.

‘Our citizenship is in heaven’ Paul wrote in Philippians 3:20. We live on earth but our true home is heaven. There our heavenly Saviour awaits us. This earth and all its seeming wonder will pale into insignificance once we see Jesus. Don’t get too settled here. Sometime, you’ll be moving on.
