Day 6 The God of Detail

The God of Detail

Soon after the January 2011 floods, someone asked me if I was able to save my Bible College notes. At the time I was only just coming to grips with how much was actually lost. I had to tell them “They’re all gone.” Even though the notes represented thousands of hours of work, I chuckled to myself thinking that from God’s perspective, they had a lesser value than I gave them.

In the midst of the clean-up the thought popped into my head that copies of most of the notes were still on my computer. And sure enough, sometime later when I got around to checking, there they were; but not all of them. Some were never typed up and were gone. But still, I had the rest.

It took a good while before I even began to look at the little that survived in my office down at the church building. Dealing with our flooded home was more than enough. But when I did get round to it, again there were hundreds of studies and books lost, but one single folder survived. I laughed out loud when I opened it. Inside were all the Bible College notes that were not on computer.

So in the midst of everything God graciously decided to let me have a copy of all my notes – most via computer and the rest through the only folder that was salvageable in the midst of the flood waters.

Can God look after the smallest detail? He can and He does – all the time.
