Day 5 Only Two Camps

Only Two Camps

Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me   Luke 7:23

Our word “scandal” comes from the word translated fall away (skandalizo) in this verse. The term was used for the part of the trap where the bait was placed. It came to mean “to be offended,” “turned out of the way,” “to fall away.”

No one else on earth could truthfully make a statement like Jesus has here ‘Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me.’

It infers everyone finds themselves either offended or not offended by Jesus. It infers everyone has a reaction of some kind.

On Judgement Day this will be so real before our eyes. There will be no one in between. There will only be two camps. On one side will be the redeemed and on the other, those who remain in their sin.

Someone may think “I haven’t decided against Jesus so I’m not as bad as those who have.” But this assumes we can be neutral and no one does that. No one begins neutral. We all begin in sin; so to make no decision is to remain where we are – in sin.

Jesus’ way is never the easy way. He never promised us a rose garden, only a crown of thorns.
